Last Thursday and Friday nights, Brothers Rugby Union Club in Townsville hosted its first MRP training session and game.
Brothers is the first Rugby Club in Townsville to add the MRP to their rugby divisions. The Modified Rugby Program (MRP) is a new, modified form of touch-only rugby, developed by GingerCloud Foundation, where each boy and girl with a learning and perceptual disability has their own club PlayerMentor on the field supporting them.
The Brothers MRP Players and PlayerMentors had lots of fun and can't wait to get back to training next week.
A unique rugby program has started in Townsville, specially designed for children with learning and communication disabilities. https://t.co/lVtTefzdbL @AmeliaAdam1 #7News pic.twitter.com/jQG3XCgUa3
