It’s nearly everyone’s dream to play on the field where legends have once been and continue to be: Suncorp Stadium. But, it was the reality for some of our amazing MRP Tribe over the weekend!
Our wonderful MRP 7s Teams - Brothers Blue, Brothers Red, Redlands White, Redlands Red, Easts, and Wests Gold - all took to the Suncorp field to play pre-games prior to the Australian Wallabies V Springbok Test Match. Each and every MRP Player showcased their talent and the skills they have learned and developed during the 2018 season. MRP Players were diving for the try lines, followed by high-fives all around. The energy was electric and smiles all-the-more contagious!
It was an awe-inspiring evening witnessing these young individuals at their happiest. Nothing can beat that! It’s what the MRP is all about.
We were especially thrilled to have our PlayerMentors from Brothers Townsville Junior Rugby Club to join us for the big game. It was wonderful for them to be a part of the action!
But, it wasn’t just the MRP Players and PlayerMentors that had the opportunity to attend. Our wonderful MRP Community took to the stands to watch our very own under the spotlights. The stadium was flooded with heart-warming emotion. Cameras were left, right and centre capturing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! The MRP Players and PlayerMentors were definitely receiving the attention they deserve. Parents could not have been prouder!
And it is fair to say, the MRP really set the scene for the Wallabies who came home with a win.
It couldn’t have been a better night.
